Release Notes

3rd Party Tasting Notes
On the nose it brings ripe banana, candied chestnuts, cinnamon and hints of pine. As you continue to sniff, there's a distinct warming woodiness that reminds one of a forest. These combine with a center palate woodiness, sandalwood and gentle spice, before sweet cherries cut through the more savory notes, leading to a floral, spring-like finish.

In 1961 Tadashi Matsuda founded and established Taiyou Distillery in Naha City on Okinawa and started producing rum from local sugar cane. In 1969 the name of the distillery was changed to Helios Distiller.
Over the years the business grew and began to product brown sugar spirits, Habu sake, Otsurui shochu, Awamori spirit and later craft beer.
In 1972 the head office and factory were relocated to Nago city on Okinawa. In the 1980s branches in Naha city and Tokyo were added.
Helios also is an importer of wine and spirits from around the world and owns craft beer pubs and operates the restaurant Momogama.
